How to Market Your Legal Practice: Publish Blogs

How Lawyers Can Market Their Businesses: Blogging Thanks to Eni Eski for sending me this blog post by Matt Faustman on Upcounsel.com, which she found interesting and helpful.

It describes the results from the 2013 In-House Counsel New Media Engagement Survey and some interesting take-aways from it and other 2013 studies.

The upshot is:

  • 74 per cent of general counsel at major companies in the U.S. polled, responded that they are willing to pull their high-stakes work away from non-pedigree law firms – that is, firms outside the AmLaw 20 – if the cost difference was 30 per cent or more. There is growing evidence that legal work simply won’t be sent to the most pedigreed law firms because general counsel are focused on value and specifically efficiency, responsiveness, and cost; and
  • General counsel have become voracious consumers of content who view blog posts as important sources of credible and reliable information and, when done well, they influence hiring decisions.
