Everything from law firms going public, to the movement to ABS (Alternate Business Structures,) particularly popular in the UK, to virtual and/or mobile lawyers and crowd-sourcing. Firms are merging into mega firms and splitting up into small, specialized boutiques. Lawyers are trying to figure out what their clients mean when they ask for “value based billing” – in truth, clients are trying to figure that out, too.
We are in a time of change in our industry, and the more we know about what options are out there and what people are doing successfully, the better equipped we will be to address what our own clients are looking for.
